When I wrote the review for Double en Jeu we received an email from Cadinot himself saying, "I loved the review but didn't understand half of it." That's exactly my sentiments about his films, and I wouldn't want it any other way. His stories, brilliantly thought through, are troublesome to follow without subtitles, but don't ever think about pandering to stupid Yank tastes!
If you've never seen a Cadinot movie before this is as good a place as any to start, but why haven't you seen one? OK, maybe you've been in solitary confinement of Devil's Island for thirty years and have just been released, or maybe you've been a castaway. But that really is no excuse.
This one of Cadinot's "uphill" films after his crap period of the early nineties. This is when he rediscovered his muse and started making films that were worth keeping again.
It stars the absolutely gorgeous Galfion, a bit player in the still-unreleased-in-the-States S.O.S, who proved he was too talented a performer to get second billing to anyone. I understand he's now been snapped up by American porno makers, so to paraphrase Chancellor Palpatine speaking to young Anakin Skywalker - I'm watching his career with great interest.
We start as Forest goes shopping for clothes in a market and finds Galfion trying on sexy shorts. Before you can say "ooh-la-lah" the two are naked and French kissing frantically.
